About
Hello. That's my face.
A small toy made by one person, for people who like poking things.
I make small things for the web, and this is one of them: a photo you can grab, stretch, and let wobble back.
The first version was a physics experiment. A damped wave equation is normally used for water, cloth, or very expensive hair. Pointed at a portrait, it does something better: it makes a face feel like a face. Once I'd pulled my own cheek and watched it spring back, the rest of the site was inevitable.
A few things I decided early:
- No accounts. You shouldn't have to sign up to poke a photo.
- No uploads. Your photo is processed in your browser and never sent anywhere. That's both a privacy stance and a simpler product.
- No “pro” version that ruins the free one. The tool is free. If you want it in your own hero, there's a small licence.
It's built with a hand-written WebGL renderer, a lot of JavaScript, and no framework. It's about 26KB over the wire.
If it made you laugh, send it to someone. That's the whole business model.
